(1) Each person has bioelectric field characteristics that are unique
to each individual.
(2) BIOFINDERS antennae detect the unknown persons bioelectric field and send it to the internal electronic circuitry which filters out the bioelectric field signal.
(3) BIOFINDER sends the filtered bioelectric field signal to the computer for analysis.
(4) The computer runs software (not supplied) to analyze the unknown bioelectric field signal.
(5) The computer compares the unknown signal to known
signatures previously recorded and stored in a bioelectric
field signature library.
(6) The computer makes a match. (7)
"Bioelectric fields
* Cells maintain an electrochemical gradient of -60 to -80 mV across the cell membrane
\ * Nerve cells generate an action potential that causes a change of 130 mV over a ms.
\ * Consequently, all living animals produce very weak electric fields. These can be detected by a
variety of predatory animals, such as sharks, platypus, etc."

Product: BIOFINDER tm
Our Biofinder can work with DSP/pattern recognition chips and software
of which there are many manufacturers. The DSP/pattern recognition
chips commercially may also be standard- off-the-shelf sound
recognition types such as found in computer sound cards. Biofinders output
can be customized into RF for transmission encoded for
location code or hard wired in to a base.
It can be directly fed into a sound card and VOX'd for threshold detection
against a background. The signal file can be saved as a *wav file to match
against a library of bioelectric field signatures.
Any VOX recorder such as VOXrecorder can be used to set threshold against a
noisy background.
The signal can be recorded on the audio track of a video camera to match the
person's bioelectric field to the image on the frame.
The sensor works in rain, snow & heat.
This technology is not a sound or voice signal but can be used with sound
recognition chips and sound recognition software.
The sensor can be used outdoors or indoors. It can detect every persons
individual bioelectric field in a crowd within its range. It can also detect
when two people move together thru a single-person access point
(tailgating) for access control.
It can also detect people thru house walls within a short range.
The BIOFINDER can detect breathing patterns at up to 20 feet away.
Testing over 25 years has shown that the bioelectric field of a person does
not significantly change over lifetime, only in weight parameter. Thus
identities are obtainable reliably as fingerprints or better over long
periods of time between detections.
Here is some information
on the BIOFINDER sensor:
=============
It is a module that passively detects bioelectric fields
of people from 0 inches to 20 feet away, i.e., Passive Bioelectric Field tm,
(PBFtm).
Two sensors can cover an area of 80 x 40 feet.
Range is settable.
Range and direction are functions of antennae direction and length.
Direction and size of detection envelope is settable.
It can be powered by 5v through 16v batteries.
Battery life is usually one year.
It uses any metal object as detection antenna but is best directional
when used with small telescopic antennas supplied set for ranges from
inches to 20 feet.

Questions:
Question: - What is the proven accuracy of the product (in % of times it
identifies persons correctly)
Answer: NASA licensee identified people with it in 1995 under the trade
name "The Mole" using neural nets to identify people. With simple
arithmetic mean, median and power/signal strength, accuracies of 99.99%,
99.99%, 97.99%, respectively, have been achieved by others.
Question: - Can it also detect pets such as dogs, cats? Yes, it can be
hardware adjusted or software adjusted for animals such as cats, dogs, skunks, squirrels
etc. in a discriminatory mode. Animals evidently have a different signal than humans.

Question: - How many bits (in the A/D conversion) is needed to identify?
Answer: 8 bits works, 12 is good; 16 better;
Question: Are accurate components needed?
No, it doesn't matter- can be 5-10% (1% are ok but expensive). It can be
10% setup with excellent results. Has been used
with ADC800 series AD
converters,serial port, v-to f converters, etc.
Question: Whar is the signal size required for ID?
A simple sound card with 2k bytes has been to identify because the signal is
a fractal type pattern. 8kbytes is good though. So it is enough to put on
analog or digital on a smart card. It can be 10% setup with excellent
results.
Question:- Is a DSP always a necessity? or can we just use
our standard MCU?
-Answer: It can be used with 8051 and PIC, STAMP, etc. setups etc. Can
be run with BASIC onboard MCU with compare SW . Also solid state
recorder chips can be used to store the signal and played back- It can
also be taped on the audio track of a video tape to match a video image of a
person on that frame. It be used with simple RF transmitters. .
Question: How much of memory space per person is needed for the Biofinder?-
Answer: 2kbytes thru 8kbytes is good. 22kbytes is better for WAV file use at 44kHz DSP analysis.
There is a mass or weight parameter available on the signal which can be
seen on histograms of the biofield charge density factor as a function of the
mass/weight- A previous IP was done in 1987 by another company which detected
this same signal on the skin using complex circuitry and they were able to
identify weight of the person within 5 to 10 pounds. This same signal
BIOFINDER can detect at 7 meters.
The bioelectric field signals can be stored as WAV files. Sound recognition
software can be used to identify the signals.
Question:- Is there a ready-made algorithm or do we have to develop such
ourselves?
Answer:-
no- cf above sound recognition sw or any fft will do it also with a compare
or match function based on % closemess. Soundforge works also as many other
sound programs. COOLEDIT, SPSS, etc. Musclefish etc.
